Co-sponsored by the IOF and US National Osteoporosis Foundation, the 6th WWC was held in conjunction with the scientific IOF World Congress on Osteoporosis. Some 120 participants from 39 countries enjoyed a successful conference which was opened with welcome speeches from Queen Rania of Jordan (via video) and from the Honourable William Lipinski, a member of the US House of Representatives. In addition. letters of greetings from Hilary Rodham Clinton and Dr. Ala Alwan of the WHO showed the high level of support for the event. Highlights included a keynote address from Philip Kotler, world-renowned social marketing expert, the world premiere of the song "Bone of My Own", and the presentation of the IOF-MSD "Invest in your bones" grants.
